AN OFF-LICENCE worker has been found guilty of possessing cocaine with the intent to supply.

But Asar Khan, 24, was cleared of being concerned with the supply of Class A drugs from Wendy’s Off-Licence in Whitebirk.

Khan, of July Street, Blackburn, was also cleared of wounding a 16-year-old boy, whose evidence had led police to carry out a raid on the Brecon Road store on June 6.

Asar Khan’s brother Faisal Khan, 19, also of July Street, Blackburn, had previously pleaded guilty to being concerned with the supply of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Aleem Khan, 20, of Lambeth Street, Blackburn pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with the intent to supply.

Preston Crown Court heard claims that a teenage boy had been attacked by Asar Khan following a dispute over a laptop.

During a police interview the boy told officers he had been buying cocaine over the counter at Wendy’s Off Licence and a drugs warrant was executed.

Police seized £2,000 cash from the property, along with plastic bags containing cocaine residue and other items of drug paraphrenalia. But Asar Khan’s fingerprints were not found on any of the items.

In interview Asar Khan denied any knowledge of or involvment in the alleged drug-dealing business at the off-licence, despite working there occasionally when Faisal Khan was at college.

However, he admitted he spent £120 a week on his own cocaine habit.

He told officers that on the night of the alleged attack he had been at the cinema with his girlfriend and that he didn’t even know his alleged victim.

The jury took less than two hours to return their verdict.

All three men will be sentenced on November 21.
