A MAN attacked a car that was parked outside his ex-partner’s house.

Blackburn magistrates heard the car owner was sitting in the kitchen while his girlfriend received a massage from the householder.

Owen Whitehead, 22, of Swallow Drive, Burnley, pleaded guilty to causing £1,500 worth of damage to a BMW belonging to Dale Johnson. He was ordered to pay £500 compensation, fined £48 with a £32 victim surcharge.

Nasima Patel, prosecuting, said Mr Johnson was in an address on Cog Lane where his girlfriend was receiving a massage from the occupant.

“The occupant’s phone was constantly ringing and she was receiving calls from the defendant,” said Miss Patel.

“She stopped the massage and answered a call. There were threats to damage the car and jump all over it. It appears that is exactly what happened and there was a lot of damage to the car.

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client accepted full responsibility and had no real excuse.

“He wasn’t sure what was going on in the house or who his partner was with,” said Mr Taylor.

“Since the incident he has had time to reflect on his behaviour. He realises it was a very immature way to behave.”
