An Accrington training provider has called on East Lancashire businesses to offer work placements for its students.

North Lancs Training Group is asking firms in the region to offer placements for 16 to 18-year-olds currently on its Study Programme, which gives young people the chance to gain practical skills and industry knowledge while studying.

NLTG is asking businesses from a range of industries to get involved, including retail, IT, childcare and more.

There is no cost to an employer, who will also receive support from NLTG, and also offers them the chance to recruit new talent and develop existing staff.

Sazid Patel, study programme manager at NLTG, said: "We are looking for businesses who can offer high-quality work placements for 16 to 18-year-olds to get in touch, so we can speak about the opportunities of working with the team here at NLTG."

Gareth Lindsay, managing director at NLTG, added: "Work experience is such an important part of the development of our Study Programme learners to help them gain valuable skills to prepare for the workplace, while also being of great benefit to employers.

"If any businesses are interested, we would urge them to get in touch with our Study Programme team."
