BLACKBURN Rovers goalkeeper Peter Enckelman could be heading to Cardiff City on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Bluebirds boss Dave Jones is hoping to tempt the Finnish international with the offer of a three-year contract after impressing during a loan spell with the South Wales club.
And Enckelman, one of the heroes of Cardiff's magical FA Cup run, has admitted he would love to stay at Ninian Park, although he intends to postpone any talks about his future until after the FA Cup final later this month.
The 31-year-old, who is out of contract with Rovers this summer, said: "I am focused on playing football and leave all contract details to my agent.
"He will let me know when there is something certain, but right now I am concentrating on preparing for the FA Cup final."
Since joining Cardiff on loan in January, Enckelman has enjoyed a new lease of life with the Bluebirds, keeping 10 clean sheets in 19 appearances, and playing a key role in the club's march to Wembley.

Now he is looking forward to the prospect of an FA Cup final showdown with his former Aston Villa team-mate David James, assuming the Portsmouth keeper recovers from injury in time to take his place at Wembley.
Enckelman added: "Cardiff gave me the chance to kick-start my career.
"There were moments when I found it difficult to motivate myself when I knew I would not be in the matchday 16 at Blackburn.
"Maybe I needed a new challenge - and that was provided by Cardiff."

well TC the 4 'outs' look certs (if only because everybody else seems to have had contract extensions recently apart from the maestro of course).
the 'ins' leave me bit bothered i could see johnson playing regularly but the rest not.
your total for 5 of the 6 would exceed £30M+ i dont think we have that kind of money to bandy about.
at the moment ive no idea's but ide prefer us to spend a bit on a quality player say £10M and maybe a couple of bargains to bolster the squad, ide love to see duffer back but that may be more nostalgia than realisism.
Bradley was linked to everton again in todays press for £4M.
keep the faith

i agree TC so bored with thems mind numbing articles from the LET
agree with most of your sales and releases but not your purchases.
OUT

henchoz
Enkelman
gally
peter (notcut it 4 me)
IN
Bradley 4m
Hunt 4m
Victor Moses 2m
Steven Davis 3m
pedro mendes ?
think mendes would be ideal replacement for tugay but if we get inter toto i think we should let tugay play in those games with benni and gally up front perhaps

Out,
enkelman, henchoz, gallager, berner, mokoena, rigters, and maybe roberts depending who we can get in as his replacement.
In (this is hard)
Moses and Soares both from palace if they dont go up.
not sure if darren bent as mentioned above would come, but could be worth a look,
we really need a right back. (steve finnan? from liverpool) or hoyte from arsenal? dont know much about either but i hear good things
micheal bradley
harry kewell on a free could be worth a glance.

always a good debate...
we dont need riise when we got warnock and olsson.
however, a new right back would be welcome, dont mention the newly freed stephen carr tho, he's a liability! (and crap)
we need an attackin midfielder with flair (michael bradley please stand up), and a decent left winger to keep the pressure on pedersen! kewell's a good suggestion, he' a free un too!
the exciting soares or moses would be good additions and scholes would we welcome! mendes too would be good!
get rid of Enkelman, Henchoz, Gallagher and Berner and maybe even Rigters.

my purchases i feel would fit into the club as follows:
riise as an attcking midfielder (to give pedersen a kick)and can play as left back if warnock was unavailable for any reason, leaving Hughesey to give olson a season loan to a good championship team.
Sidwell, way down the pecking order at Chelski and needs a move for regular first team football, a very good player, young and could get him for 3mill
johnson..again on loan, young and bags of potential...chelski may regard him as a star of the future but id be tempted to wade in with a bid.
Fletcher...i know its a bit pie in the sky but a class act should we suffer with the loss of bentley.
Bent..with modric, keane, berbatov for company (maybe Eto is on his way too) Bent needs to be playing regular first team football....all the atributes to be a top player at this level..pace and power!
Lita..he may have been loaned out this season but its no surprise that he palyed the whole of last season and helped an average side attain a top half finish last season. This term he hasnt been used and look were they are.
I just feel we will always be more successful in re-igniting the careers of players that arent played much or have had a fall out with their respective managers but have the quality to compete in the prem.
We dont need any big signings to upset that applecart.

Riise has played there plenty of times.
Emerton is not a right back or centre mid but da da! Hughes had played him in either position for the last two seasons!
lita? pants? Were you saying the same thing when Hughes bought Warnock, Savage, Roberts, Nelson, Vogel etc?
Come on Simple Sam its easy to knock my suggestions...i didnt see you jot down anything to debate on.

i dont think the wages of the likes of riise and bent will be good value, lita is just pants too and no better than any derbyshire or even that young judge kid. we dont even need that many new players, just a couple of new faces, get the 5th spot in future, look at what we spent last season, near enough nowt, keep em together - keeps em sweet, a tugay replacement and a right back please...

my work mate who is a season ticket holder at liverpool and he laughed when i showed him your idea of playing riise on the wing.
droping from a midfield role into a defence role is easier than doing it the other way around. riise is not good enough for rovers in my view.
lita could not do it at even championship level so he wont cut it at blackburn we want player to score 15+ lita wont ever do that at this level.
warnock only question i had was his injurys,
i was keen on roberts and vogel.
savage i did raise an eyebrow, and while he was good for us at the time i would not say he was "outstanding" but he did a job.
and i had never heard of nelson so could not pass judgement.
keep playing championship manager mate.. this is the real world not a game.. good players on there are not always good in real life..

We only used about 22 players this season so i dont think we will need to add to many.
of the players likely to leave i dont think any really played, berner maybe 1 or 2 games the axe a few games. but thats all really.
i do strongly agree we need a new right back, and a left winger to fight with pederson, maybe 1 more central mid if tugay does leave us (which i sadly think he will) but i cant see where else we need someone.. we have ok cover in most places now..

I agree with most of the outs, pretty obvious most of them. However players to bring in I'd be looking a Jimmy Bullard and maybe even bring in James McFadden to bolster midfield and attack. Not sure about right back however there aren't any obvious targets.

if i said to my mates we should sign lita they would be on the floor laughing and i would not hear the end of it. we want to move forward not backwards as a club.
if you want to push the issue then
kewell (if he can stay injury free) micheal bradley and alan smith, are 3 players i think would do well..
with moses and soares as ones i would like to see signed for the coming years.
as for champ manager i play is once in a blue moon, but do ok on it win the odd cup and league title but not every year..
as for my face being grey.. no i would say red, as i have been out in the sun to much this weekend..

A good signing at right back would be Steve Finnan, anyone know if he is on his way out of Liverpool to make way for another import. Michael Bradley's agent is saying that he would prefer a move to the German league god know's why!!!
We do need another striker I feel. I think Roberts will go and I don't think Derbyshire is Premiership class. Ebanks-Blake could be worth a look seeing Wolves never made the play-offs

i am not making suggestions cus i am not a manager. i will leave that to sparky. my work mate who is a season ticket holder at liverpool and he laughed when i showed him your idea of playing riise on the wing. droping from a midfield role into a defence role is easier than doing it the other way around. riise is not good enough for rovers in my view. lita could not do it at even championship level so he wont cut it at blackburn we want player to score 15+ lita wont ever do that at this level. warnock only question i had was his injurys, i was keen on roberts and vogel. savage i did raise an eyebrow, and while he was good for us at the time i would not say he was \"outstanding\" but he did a job. and i had never heard of nelson so could not pass judgement. keep playing championship manager mate.. this is the real world not a game.. good players on there are not always good in real life..

Right i am BOREDDDDD now..
Tc lita is carp, he would never get in the team and would be 7th choice, behind roque.. roberts.. benni.. derbs.. judge, de vita (i am guessing gally will be going) if not lita would be 8th choice.
Appologies TC, didn't get on til now, glad to see people are taking notice of Michael Bradley now, and Victor Moses, although we wouldn't get him for 2m.
Bradley is wayyy better than Mendes, Davis and Sidwell. Would JUMP at the chance to sign Glen Johnson!! would be a top quality right back, but would be pricey and don't think Mark would blow most of his transfer kitty on one player.
Lita and Fletcher i wouldn't touch with a barge-pole, Bent i would half consider on loan, and would be interested in Riise as competition for Pedersen as he's proven quality.

Like to add that Sol Campbell is out of contract at Pompey come the summer, again, would be an excellent signing and REALLY make us look solid defensively if we can afford the wages. Would also benefit Samba's development.

We have Nelsen on board to develop Samba, i know Rovers love their players over the hill but Campbell is past it!! and his wages suck too.

Rovers need to make a counter bid for Michael Bradley soon.David Moyes as started to test the market offering 4M and 3M for sidwell. He is hoping to have both deals done by early next week.

Please tell me we aren't talking about Davis who is on loan at Rangers???? He is useless!!!! Kewell would possibly be good but I doubt he has the hunger anymore, would love to see Giggs come if he gets Charltons record and fancies a new challenge. Younger players I believe Frazier Campbell who is on loan in the championship and is supposed to be available for round 4 million may be worth a punt as he has pace to burn and would thrive playing off Rocky. Right back is a real worry as a real lack of class players available so may have to look abroad or in lower divisions to unearth a gem.
Bottom line i'm no expert and Sparky gets it right more often than not.

You lot must be trying to avoid relgation thinking of buying lita! Come on we can do better than that heres my ideas;
In
Damien Duff 2million
Tom Huddlestone 4 milion
Steve Sidwell 3 million
Steve Finnan 2 milion
Craig Bellamy 4.5 million Considering he hasn't played all season could be worth a cheeky punt for his return.
Out:
Gallager
Tugay
Mokena
Henchoz
Rigters
Peter

See Eidur Gudjohnsen is available for 5M, would definitley be interested in him, he's the sort of quality we need to be looking at signing, players who would improve the first team if we can affod his wages.
This is just an idea but blimey it has my mouth watering:
SELL MCCARTHY FOR 5M TO WEST HAM then sign Gudjohsen (who ISN'T lazy) AND Bellamy.
What a strike team then!!!
Roque Santa Cruz
Eidur Gudjohnsen +
Craig Bellamy WOW!!! :D
Add to that signing Michael Bradley, Sol Campbell and Nikolay Dimitrov who is AWESOME!! He's only 20, is an attacking left winger and plays for Lefski Sofia. He's got tonnes of quality tricks & talent and is available for around the 3M mark. Add to that a quality right back (poss Finnan) and how good would we look for next season???!!! :D
And the good news is, even signing all the above, with the 10m transfer kitty we hopefully have, we only need to find another 5m to make it happen. Not a problem when we can offload roberts, gallagher, mokoena, berner etc.
I did previously push for Duff to return, but seeing as he'd cost around 2m and Dmitrov is available for 3m, i know who i'd prefer LOL
How about it guys??

O my god why do idiots on this page keep saying sign Bellamy and Duff. Why spend what little money we have on two injury prone players, Bellamy aint played all season and Duff is constantly injured and when he does play looks crap these days

ive got to agree with you Michael, i did mention Duffer in an earlier post, but more from a nostalgic notion rather than a realistic one. we all expect him to be like he was 5 or 6 years ago but as you said in that time he has had long periods out with injuries.
as for bellamy again injuries are a problem but the big sticking point would be his wages, he isnt going to take a reduction of £10k to £20K a week (or more) 1 year into a 3 year contract.
the other thing about Daniels reasoning is that we would be letting go relatively low wage earners, and then bringing in players (bellamy, gudjonsen, campbell, quality right back, duffer) who would command far higher wages, so even if the transfer kitty could afford it the club couldnt sustain it.
we all like to dream but the reality is we have a descent side hughsie knows this and he isnt going to break up the side to much unless players make it known they want to go. he will be looking for quality in the summer and at the best we can expect is no more than 2 or 3 new arrivals with 1 of those not really in contention for a first team spot.
its all good fun though.
keep the faith

God i hope we dont sign Duff, Giggs, Bellamy OR Campbell, backwards steppin, over the hill and injury plagued.
Huddlestone or Gudjohnsen on the other hand would be great.

Now now [bold]ROBBIE[/bold] & [bold]SIMPLE SAM[/bold] [bold]TC[/bold] is only making suggestions & pretty good one's at that...
Here's my take...
[bold]OUT[/bold]
Friedel
Emerton
Samba
Nelson
Warnock
Pederson
Vogal
Dunn
Bents
Roque
Bennie
[bold]IN[/bold]
Encklemen or Jenson
Harley
Varga
Duff
Elliot
Blake
Cole
Akinbiyi
Alexander
Branch(Accy want to sell him)
McCann
A good holding midfielder Gudjonsson or Djemba Djemba
I think that pretty much sums up my transfer hopes
& all for £4.56 plus that will help to build the hopes of the future for our near neighbours.
Oh & get rid of Hughes I see Coyle as the future !!
Oh sack it get rid of the Walkers & trustees at BRFC & relace them with Brendan Flood & Baz Kil(by)....
I love it...
Any suggestions? Please dont be coy

I dont think we need to look for that huge a squad upheaval tbh as some of you guys are suggesting. I think an outstanding RB and an outstanding CM will be sufficient as will a cheap left winger who will push Pedersen. I also think we need to start bringing through more younger players and giving them a chance although thats obviously potential permitting.
Out
