Blackburn Rovers have dismissed speculation linking Jason Roberts with a move to London by firmly insisting the striker is 'not for sale'.

Several reports in the national media have claimed Roberts is 'home sick' and wants to move to London to be nearer his family.

However, the striker has not contacted Rovers to say that is the case, and the club have not fielded an enquiry from any side based in London regarding the striker's availability.

Roberts, who is currently in Grenada, where he is launching the Jason Roberts Foundation, certainly seems to be preparing to start next season at Ewood.

He has encouraged his strike-partner, and close friend, Benni McCarthy, to stay as well, following speculation linking the South African with a move to Chelsea.

"I'm hoping he doesn't go, obviously, because he's someone who would be really missed around the place," said Roberts.

"He is someone who has got a great spirit and has won so much in his career.

"But I'm not surprised that clubs are in for him.

"I haven't spoken to him since we've been away, but I'm sure he's in South Africa enjoying himself and thinking about things.

"Benni's a professional and he's enjoyed his time at Blackburn, but obviously it's hard when clubs come in for you.

"I'm quite confident he will be at Blackburn next year."
