ROVERS defender Andre Ooijer looks set to leave Ewood Park this summer after admitting he is keen on ending his career in his Dutch homeland.

The Holland international’s Rovers contract expires at the end of this season and he has given his clearest indication yet he is eyeing a permanent return home.

PSV Eindhoven, Ajax, AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord are all believed to be tracking the 34-year-old, while Rovers are understood to be keen to start talks on his future.

Ooijer told the Dutch FA’s official website: “My contract is due to expire next year and then I am a free agent at the end of the season.

“In principle, I am allowed to talk to other clubs from January. If it is up to me and my family, I will return to the Netherlands.”

The experienced stopper arrived at Blackburn in 2006 from PSV, but is unsure who he will join when his Rovers deal runs out.

He added: “I have read that there is a lot of interest in me, but I really have got no idea yet which club I will eventually move to.”

Meanwhile, Egyptian centre midfielder Ahmed Al-Muhammadi is understood to have already arrived in Lancashire for his trial with fellow countryman Hosny Abd-Rabbo expected in the next couple of days.

Here's a space-filling article if ever there was one. Who really gives a monkey's about what happens in the summer? We have more than half of a long hard season to go yet and we need to avoid any major departures (you know who I mean) in the January transfer window. If we don't avoid relegation, there will be a lot of people on their way.

This paper seem to be obsessed with Andre's future - his contribution for THIS season is going to be vital & who knows he may then be offered a new deal.

When is this paper going to focus on something positive coming out of Ewood. Almost every article in the LET has a negative overtone to it. Shall we all give up and support ManU or Accy Stanley

What a nice person you are. Good to see you're capable of a reasoned argument without resorting to personal insults.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.
Yes, Hughes was the best thing since Dalglish. It would hardly be Harford, Hodgson, Kidd or Sounness would it?
I don't suppose, reading your juvenile comments that you are old enough to have supported Rovers pre-Dalglish. Then again, they weren't successful then, so why should you have done?

I think that Mike Costa has a good point. I wonder how many of the 'Ince Out before he has a full squad to pick from' brigade went to Ewood before Jack Walker became involved.
It could go either way but interesting to find out anyway.

nexile and mike costa just because people have a different opinion from you does not give you the right to insinuate that they never supported rovers pre walker or pre dalglish how the hell would you know or maybe you have a time machine or crystal **** that lets you see what and who and when people supported rovers.

all i can say is that i cannot wait for the comments from the "give ince a chance brigade" if we are still in the bottom three come the sunderland game because i feel it will be quite funny.

but that said i have to admit that i was actually wrong about andrews and robinson they have performed a lot better than the regulars credit were credits due.

i am fed up with people on here who feel that their opinion is the only opinion and if anybody goes against that then they are accused of not being proper fans or they never supported rovers pre walker or they are too young.

if people want the to say they want the manager out then let them if people want ince to stay let them at the end of the day what we all should be doing is give THE TEAM all the support and not boo them everytime they make a mistake because if we start on the players we all know confidence will go even quicker, so guys instead of using all your wind accusing people of not being proper fans and being to young use it at ewood cheering the team and you never know the with the amount of wind that is blown around these pages it just might be enough to force the ball into the goal.

the only other thing i want to say is play players in their correct position and go 442 with roberts and roque up front

You misunderstand me. I don't particularily support Ince, I just can't see the point of demanding he goes when there is no chance that it will happen. Rovers simply can't afford to pay him and his staff off. If you don't want Alladyce as his replacement, I can't see who you are looking for. There isn't anyone out there.
Also, I never suggested that you hadn't been supporting Rovers for a long time. I did suggest that that moron Jukes hadn't. I don't see him denying it, do you?

Nexile - So you're saying anyone wanting to see the back of Ince has only been going since 1991ish? Take at least ten years off that and that's when I started my love affair with the mighty Rovers, around 1980...and I still want Ince out as I did Bob Saxton...the only two managers I've ever booed.

im not sure if it is a big pay out for charlie and his chocolate factory to move on,i expect he will be doing it on the cheap so to speak till he learns the ropes.
btw mike ive supported rovers 40yrs+.
imo we should maybe have brought parkes in along side charlie in affect it wouldve been "easier" for him to establish himself.
because i cant for the life of me see mathias(who the feck is he?)giving lectures to a long time turkey international of how to play his midfield role...can you?.
mike btw you said that we lost 5k under mark hughes right?lets see how many (and im counting from day one of inces reign)we lose under charlie?what was the attendance v manure?boro?chelsea?
sunderland?fulham?..
.your not going to tell me its the prices are you?
mark hughes had us playing some great football at times the players far exceeded theie level under hughesy.now theyre just not interested the body language says a lot with the majority of the players.
one final note..andrews as done a job in the middle, fowler is a **** joke.but its this the way forward with blakburn rovers...to john williams-you buy a cheap toy,its breaks very easily.own up and get something done!rant over.

Doesn't matter what has happened in the past it'w what happens NOW and the next 6 months or so that concerns me.

Ince should go in December to allow JW time to get in someone (not allardyce) who then has half a chance of doing something in the January transfer window to freshen things up.

Goals are scarce we need someone up top with santa. The right and left of mid is flat, get someone in here, we need a leader of men on the pitch either Nelsen steps up to the plate or we find someone to captain who can.

So forget the past for now concentrate on the here and now and immediate future.

Get rid of Ince, bring in Strachan or Laudrup and we need a stiker, right mid, left mid and captain.

End Off !!

Its premature to talk of his replacement really but if Fat Sam is getting mentions we need to look for better options just in case.
Owen Coyle is making that sow's ear down the M65 look like a silk purse on a non existent budget and playing football the proper way.
He would love the chance to move to a big club.

Short memories - Sounness won promotion, The league cup and got us to 6th in Prem. Can't see how Hughes has matched that? I know which days I will remember in 20 years - Matt Jansen nicks it, the ball goes to Cole, 2-1 and the mighty Spurs are humbled!
Jansen at the near post, 1-0 and that is Rovers back in the premiership and Flitcroft lifts up his shirt to read - "That's for you Jack"

Thought it would at least cheer us up!

Good lad Morst. Souness took over when we were 14th in the 2nd Division. He started playing the young lads, Dunn, Duff, Taylor and Jansen and off-loaded the likes of Ward, Blake, Grayson and Peacock. Lets not forget that HE bought Friedel, not Hughes. Souness' tenure just ran out of steam. Hughes came in and took us into mid-table first season and euorpe season after, via a spell at the bottom of the league around December time. Hughes made us hard to beat but even harder to watch. I also think he bailed out knowing the financial constraints that would be imposed upon him and the knowledge that we needed four or five signings to bolster a flagging squad. Nelson and Samba have looked very iffy for the last twelve months. So Ince comes in and basically has to work with Hughes old team. These players had played simple football, win the ball and get it to our wide men Bentley and Pedersen, feed the quality strikers and happy days. Bentley leaves and Pedersen just isn't doing it, while the others are trying to adapt to a different style of play. Ince was a battler but played in footballing sides, so it stands to reason that he wants his team to play proper football. However, when your only creative midfielder( Dunny) gets crocked early on what can you do? He is making the best of a bad deal at the moment. We need to be reasoned and calm at the moment, wait until he has a fit squad and adds a couple of new guys in January. Don't get me wrong, I am not happy at the way things have gone, but feel the constant criticism Ince receives is totally unjust. I would also like to point out that Andrews also gets unfair stick, the guy has adjusted well to the Premier League. If you have played at any level, then surely you can aappreciate that. His pass on Sunday inside the full back showed his quality. Had that been played by Fabregas or Rooney, the world and his dog would have been drooling.
So, if Ince does get potted, just who are we suggesting takes over. I would rather have John Bond than Fat Sam.
Morst- As I have said before, the goal at Preston, brilliant. The celebrations up Cav later with Jansen playing piano and leading songs about Burnley, priceless.

In fairness to Hughes, we had some god days as well. Last minute winner in Krakow was amazing, semi against Chelsea at Old Trafford, Pedersen, why oh why did you miss that. Semi at Millenium. Not much to choose between them really. Did similar jobs Souness and Hughes. Both built good teams, both ran out of steam after 3-4 years. Let's give Ince his chance please.
