PLAYERS, staff and management at Accrington Stanley had to wait for their pay packets this month after a mix-up in the club's accounting department.
Everyone at the club, including the players and chief executive Rob Heys, should have received their cash on Thursday May 1, but they did not receive their money until yesterday.
Mr Heys said the submission for direct payments through the Royal Bank of Scotland had been sent off a day late, and had a mistake in the accounting, meaning further delays.
The weekend and the bank holiday have exacerbated the problems for club staff, delaying the payments even further.
He said: "Everyone has been affected, including me. It should have been in on Thursday, but we didn't get the submission in until Friday, which meant we would have been paid then.
"Then the problem on the sheet meant we had to wait till after the Bank Holiday Monday."
