A recycling company in Hyndburn has showed their appreciation for the hard-working and dedicated volunteers, staff and coaches of Accrington Stanley Women by donating a full set of kit.

Stuart Rogan, of HML Recycling in Huncoat on Bolton Avenue, has provided training jackets for all the coaches and welfare staff to keep them warm and dry at the side of the pitch, and to show his appreciation for the great work they do.

Accrington Stanley Women have featured six straight wins and a spell at the top of the table.

They also provide a motivating and welcoming environment for more than 200 women and girls to play football and train regularly.

Sami Smithson, chair of Accrington Stanley Women, said: "We're really grateful to Stuart and HML for providing full matching kit for our coaching team and welfare officers including jackets.

"Not only are they much needed, with two fixtures called off already this year for bad weather - they also mean that we can represent the club when we go to fixtures with smart matching kit.

"Stuart has also volunteered many hours himself, helping grassroots sport across Hyndburn over the past 30+ years therefore it was an appropriate way to show his support to those facilitating and supporting sport, like he did for many years.

Lancashire Telegraph:

"We are really grateful for Stuart's support especially when he comes to cheer us on in all weathers!

"All sponsorship is very welcomed, and we will do our best to make you proud in return! We're doing well and really pulling together as a team. We're looking forward to the second half of the season!"

Accrington Stanley Women are next in action on after the Christmas break on January 7 when they host Radcliffe FC Women at the Stanley Sports Hub. Kick off is at 2pm.
