The third team 20/20 Finals Day was completed at Earby with a large crowd present to cheer on all four teams.

Padiham comfortably beat Whalley and Earby beat Baxenden in the semi-finals to set up the final between host club Earby and Padiham.

In view of the likelihood of rain, it was reduced to 18 overs per side.

Earby batted first and posted a score of 93, which always looked to be a challenging total.

Despite the occasional rain, the match built to a climax with both teams having the upper hand over the frantic final overs.

The match went to the last ball with Padiham needing four to win but three being enough to win a tie on losing less wickets, a wide reduced the above by one, however a scampered single off the last was not enough and Earby won by one run.

Anthony Axford North West Cricket League chairman, Bill Slinger, thanked Earby for hosting the finals day, the umpires and scorers - and the crowd for supporting the event. He praised all four teams for reaching the last four and both finalists for providing such an excellent last match before presenting the trophy to the Earby captain.
