TOP-SCORER Rudy Gestede has not travelled with the Blackburn Rovers squad for today’s Championship clash at Wigan Athletic.
The 12-goal striker, amid serious interest from Premier League clubs, is said not to be ‘in the right frame of mind’.
Gestede’s place in the starting line-up has been taken by Chris Brown for whom it will be his full league debut for the club.
Rovers boss Gary Bowyer, who has a fully fit squad to choose from, has made four other changes to the side that started last Sunday’s disappointing 1-0 home loss to Wolves.
Matt Kilgallon, the fit-again Jason Lowe, Corry Evans and Craig Conway are recalled in place of Shane Duffy, Alex Baptiste, Lee Williamson and Chris Taylor.
Second-from-bottom Wigan, who have not won at home since August, have made three changes to the team that started their 3-1 defeat at Birmingham City last Saturday.
Ben Watson, Martyn Waghorn and William Kvist have come into Malky Mackay’s starting line-up.
Wigan: Carson, Taylor, McCann, Watson, McClean, Perch, Barnett, Ridgewell, Forshaw, Waghorn, Kvist. Subs: Nicholls, Maloney, Huws, Boyce, Fortune, Cosgrove, Delort.
Rovers: Steele, Lowe, Hanley, Kilgallon, Olsson, Marshall, Evans, Cairney, Conway, Rhodes, Brown. Subs: Eastwood, King, Dunn, Baptiste, Williamson, Taylor, Duffy.
