Jason Steele 6

Had to be alert early on to push a near-post shot from Nouha Dicko.. Could do little about David Edwards’ opener.

Alex Baptiste 6

Like Marcus Olsson on the opposite flank, the right-back was asked to cover a lot of ground given the narrow formation Rovers adopted.

Grant Hanley 5

Spared the blushes of Lee Williamson and Tom Cairney in the first half but was left exposed three minutes into second by Edwards.

Shane Duffy 6

Defended well in opening period, making interceptions and clearances, but lost Dicko in the lead up to Edwards’ goal.

Markus Olsson 7

Rovers’ best player, after shrugging off a painful shoulder injury, he defended solidly and offered much-needed width.

Chris Taylor 6

Rewarded for his two-goal FA Cup show against Charlton Athletic, blazed one effort over and saw another blocked.

Lee Williamson 5

Passing let him down badly in the first half, leading to one shooting opportunity for Dicko, but did throw in a number of tackles.

Tom Cairney 6

Put Rovers in trouble in the opening stages with a poor pass, but sent in a cross that Richard Steadman headed against his own post.

Ben Marshall 5

Rovers’ biggest threat before the break, sending one header wide and testing Carl Ikeme from a free kick, but nowhere near his best.

Jordan Rhodes 6

Great cross for Marshall but, one headed opportunity aside, was starved of service, like he has been on occasions this season.

Rudy Gestede 5

Held the ball up well and saw one second-half shot deflect over but like his strike-partner had very little to get his teeth into.
