ACCRINGTON Stanley goalkeeper Jack Rose has extended his loan deal with the Reds until January 17.

Rose, who joined John Coleman’s side last month from Premier League side West Brom, has been in fine form for Stanley since his arrival.

The 19-year-old made his debut in the FA Cup first round tie with Notts County and has made six appearances for the Reds since then keeping one clean sheet.

And the stopper admitted he was delighted to prolong his stay at the Store First Stadium.

“I’ve had a great time already,” he said.

“I feel like I’ve fitted in well and everyone’s made me feel welcome.

“To have the loan deal extended is great for me and hopefully it’s great for the club as well.”

Rose is now targeting a climb up the League Two table with Stanley currently 13th heading into this weekend’s trip to Portsmouth.

And the teenager also wants an FA Cup victory over Yeovil Town next week to set up a meeting with Premier League giants Manchester United in the third round - a tie Rose can play in.

The goalkeeper added: “We want to get as high as possible in the league and where that will take us we don’t know yet but that’s our aim.

“This is a great group of lads and we just need to keep going and keep getting wins and points on the board. “Still being in the FA Cup speaks for itself too.”

Rose joined Stanley after injuries curtailed the loan spells of Chesterfield’s Aaron Chapman and Fulham’s Jesse Joronen.

The Reds still have Luke Simpson on their books while fellow goalkeeper Andrew Dawber is on loan at Evo-Stik side Clitheroe.
