But it was not the 2-1 home loss to Sheffield Wednesday itself that hurt the most – it was the manner of it.

The Rovers players were down on their knees after Owls substitute Claude Dielna scored with virtually the last kick of Saturday’s match.

But Gary Bowyer insists they will have got the ‘extreme disappointment’ out of their system well before the battle with the Bees.

Rovers boss Bowyer said: “They are an honest bunch and if you went into the dressing room afterwards you would have found them extremely disappointed.

“It didn’t need me to tell them they hadn’t met the standards they’ve set for themselves – they knew that.

“We’ve just got to dust ourselves down, bounce back, and go again.

“And we always bounce – this is what we’ve got.

“We’ve got an honest bunch and they won’t feel sorry for themselves.

“They’ll take it on the chin and go again in training this week and it’s as simple as that.”

Those words will comfort the large amount of Rovers fans ave already got their tickets for the club’s first league trip to Griffin Park, which is famous for having a pub on each corner of the ground, since 1979.

Rovers have been allocated 1,570 tickets for the clash of the promotion hopefuls – 1,050 on the terrace, 520 seated – and as of last night more than 1,300 had been sold.

Tickets cost £23 for adults, £17 for over 60s, £15 for students and £6 for under 18s.

Rovers are offering a travel and ticket special offer for the game.

Combined coach travel and match tickets cost £41.50 for adults, £37 for over 60s, £37.50 for students and £31 for under 18s.

The Bees, who are three points above seventh-placed Rovers in fifth, saw their five-match winning run come to an end on Saturday when they were beaten 2-1 at Huddersfield Town.
