BLACKBURN Rovers fans have watched some fantastic strikers grace the Ewood Park turf including Simon Garner, Alan Shearer, Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz and Jordan Rhodes.

However, none of the above have ever won the Peter White Memorial Trophy - awarded to the player scoring goal of the season at Blackburn Rovers.

Martin Olsson scored a spectacular acrobatic goal but it wasn't enough for 10-man Rovers who were beaten 6-4 by Aston Villa in the League Cup semi-final.

 

Aaron Mokoena - 2008/2009

Blackburn Rovers 2 - 1 Sunderland AET

Aaron Mokoena scored his first Rovers goal for almost two years as Rovers beat Sunderland in the FA Cup 4th round. Benni McCarthy scored the 118th minute winner.

Blackburn Rovers came out of the blocks blazing with Roque Santa Cruz, Tugay with a wonder goal and Benni McCarthy adding a brace to beat Reading 4-2.

Wigan's winning run in the Premiership was brought to an end as Blackburn scored three high-quality goals to earn their third away win of the season.

Blackburn booked an FA Cup sixth-round tie at home to Leicester with a hard-fought victory against Burnley.

Morten Gamst Pedersen scored the winner with five minutes remaining, thundering a fierce shot into the roof of the net.

 

Tugay Kerimoğlu - 2003/2004

Birmingham 0 - 4 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn ended their dismal run of five straight defeats away from home with victory over Birmingham in a fiery encounter at St Andrews.

Tugay made sure of a vital three points with a superb piledriver before Paul Gallagher added a fourth.
