ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman believes his side's strong squad can prove crucial as the Reds prepare for six games in a month.

Two goals from Piero Mingoia lifted Stanley into the top half of the table with a 2-1 win over Cambridge United on Saturday and Coleman is confident there is more to come from his side.

"We've got a good camp and that is going to be vital," said Coleman. "We've got a squad of 23 or 24 which is quite big for Accrington.

"Keeping everyone happy is the key and we are only as strong as the weakest link and we've got weak links at the moment.

"In the coming months it is going to get harder but we think we can get stronger."

Coleman wanted his side to play with more attacking intent ahead of the visit of Cambridge and he was pleased with what he saw as Stanley scored twice and could have had several more during an impressive performance.

"It could have been a much bigger margin; we had enough chances.

"We got the second goal and you think it could be a platform to go on and get three or four.

"It’s disappointing that it’s become so uncomfortable in the last five minutes of stoppage time.

"It’s pleasing because we’ve seen it out but I’d have liked a clean sheet.

“We sprang into life with a great goal from Piero; it was a good ball in from John O’Sullivan and a great finish.

“Then we’ve almost scored the goal of the season with Sean Maguire but it’s an unbelievable save from their goalkeeper."

Coleman also praised Cambridge for playing their part in an entertaining clash at the Store First Stadium.

"They’re a good side, I’ll make no bones about that, and to perform in the way that we did was a credit to our players,” he added.

"I thought it was a smashing game. Both sides tried to play football and some of it was really good stuff and we made some good chances. It was full-blooded and played in a great spirit."
