A 28-YEAR-OLD Zimbabwe asylum seeker has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with raping a 15-year-old girl.
The court heard that the alleged incident took place at the home of Blessing Mwenye, in Burnley Road, Blackburn.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on March 4.
The girl confided to a school friend and a teacher the following day.
Mwenye was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court after the magistrates rejected a bail application by defence solicitor Jonathan Taylor.
