A SCHOOLBOY will create his own ice cream after winning a competition.
Youngster Harvey Sheldon will visit Hudson’s Ices in Downham Road, Clitheroe tomorrow, where he will become the first person outside the Hudson family to create his own ice cream in 100 years.
The ice cream parlour opened as a butchers in 1913 but has been serving up fresh ice cream for 76 years – and still uses the machinery installed after the war ended.
Last year, to celebrates its centenary, it held a ‘brain freeze’ challenge to see how much ice cream people could eat in two minutes – with Harvey emerging victorious.
Mandy, and her husband Mark, have owned the shop since 1999. She said: “Harvey will be here from lunchtime, so he will be creating his own ice cream.”
