RIBBLE Valley residents have been invited to submit their comments on modifications of the borough council’s Core Strategy.

The controversial housing plan was resubmitted earlier this month to the government following a series of recommendations from the Planning Inspectorate.

Among the changes to the plan is the rise in the annual housing allowance from 250 to 280 up to 2028.

Work on the council’s Core Strategy first began more than three years ago and it was rejected by the Planning Inspectorate in 2012 but was resubmitted last year.

A series of modifications were called for by the government before it could be approved.

If approved, the plan would need to be rubber-stamped at a meeting of the full council.

Comments are invited on the modifications and background papers only.

The deadline for responses is 5pm on July 7, and further details are available from the council’s Forward Planning Team on 01200 425111.
