ONE of the early classics by a favourite northern playwright will be brought to a village centre in Pendle this weekend.
‘Happy Jack’, by John Godber, will be staged at the Laneshaw Bridge Village Hub this Saturday as part of the latest efforts to promote the Keighley Road centre as a theatre venue.
The Library Theatre Touring Company is bringing the 1982 Godber effort, based around his grandparents Jack and Liz, for a one-off performance.
Their annual light relief came during their annual summer holiday to Blackpool, and later Cleethorpes and Whitley Bay.
Tickets for the show, arranged by Laneshaw Bridge Community Enterprise, are priced at £5 and £3.50 for concessions and can be obtained by calling Eddie on 01282 861034.
