RESIDENTS in Blackburn, Great Harwood, Mellor and Langho reported ‘white’ tapwater.
United Utilities received 23 reports on Friday across Blackburn, Great Harwood and Langho and Mellor.
The supplier said that it had inspectors monitoring the situation and the water is not harmful.
A spokesman on the firm’s website said: “We have received calls to let us know some of you are finding when you turn your tap on the water appears white/is aerated; it has lots of bubbles in it.
“This is not harmful to health and will clear from bottom up if you fill a glass and leave it to stand for five minutes. In the meantime we are looking into this.”
