Music news - Hollie Steel set to release debut album

CHARTS BID: Hollie Steel hopes to crack the albums chart in 2010 CHARTS BID: Hollie Steel hopes to crack the albums chart in 2010

BRITAIN’S Got Talent singer Hollie Steel is set to release her debut album this year, it has been revealed.

The 11-year-old Huncoat youngster had limited success with her debut single, Where Are You, Christmas, which failed to make the Top 40.

But this year Hollie, a pupil at Oakhill College in Whalley, will complete her first full-length release.

Mum Nina said that if a major record label did not pick up the album, which will feature a range of cover tracks, the family would release it on their own label.

Their label will be called BB5, named after the Accrington postcode.

Nina said: “This year will be an amazing one for us. Last year Hollie was on national TV with Britain’s Got Talent and we now want to keep her profile as high as we can.

“The big thing for us this year is the album. It will definitely come out this year, even if we have to release it ourselves.

“Hopefully, soon, someone big will come along and sign her up. At the moment there are things and jobs that are coming along but nothing major.

“Hollie is just enjoying her singing and is happy. We are even planning to film some music videos to promote her.”

Last April, Hollie rose to fame with her audition for Britain’s Got Talent.

Her rendition of ‘I Could Have Danced All Night’, dressed in a mini ballerina tutu, was watched by two million people on YouTube and reduced show judge Amanda Holden to tears.

Hollie herself later made headlines when she burst into tears during the live finals of the show as nerves got the better of her.

Won't be buying it. Especially if no major labels will touch it. Oh, wait. They'll release it on their own label. Talk about pushy.

Is Hollie their daughter or one of their assets? Surely she would have been signed already if there was a commercial opportunity.

completely agree with the above comments. what a sad example of a pushy mother. why can she not just let her daughter enjoy her childhood and be a normal little girl. does she not realize what emotional impact thie constant rejection may have on her daughter? or does she just not care. any price fame and fortune - typical of today's society. if she is talented she will succeed of her own accord when she is an adult. the mother should be ashamed of herself

I agree with the comments above but I would say every parent thinks about their Childs future and this sought of field is the correct one to proceed towards if their beloved daughter does prove to portray her talent individually not forcefully.

I'm not quite sure why my comment was removed! I only said I wouldn't want to be around when she was told for the first time in her life. Imagine the tantrum!

Why have the majority of the comments been removed? No doubt the mother complained! If she is going to be in the public eye she will have to get used to people voicing their opinions.

Does anyone here actually know how this business works? I bet you don't. This business is extremely weird today and many talents are wasted all the time. Why is it being "pushy" when Hollie loves to sing? If she truly likes to sing and wants to release an album I see no problem releasing it whether it is on a local label or a major label. I am sure that Hollie is loving her time and that her childhood don't get wasted... please don't buy all that media bull..
