A burglar broke into the newly refurbished ballroom at Accrington town hall.
Blackburn magistrates heard William John McCann was caught on CCTV placing bottles of spirits into a box before leaving the building.

And the court heard that two days earlier McCann had been caught on CCTV breaking into Althams travel agents in Blackburn Road. McCann, 43, of Grange Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to two charges of burglary and was committed in custody to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced.
