SCHOOLCHILDREN in Oswaldtwistle have been urged to walk home in groups after an attack on a student.
A pupil walking on his own to Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School, in Haworth Street, was assaulted by an older man at Fox Hill Bank, the school said.
Acting headteacher Mrs Nuttall said in a letter to parents: "We are advising students to avoid this area as they walk to and from school, and if they do have to go through Fox Hill Bank, to walk with friends.
"If students do have any concerns, let them know that they should talk to their form tutor or their year leader, who will take their concerns seriously."
The Lancashire Telegraph reported on Wednesday how the Civic Arts Centre, in Union Road, was encouraging parents to pick up their children at the end of sessions after an 11-year-old was attacked by two teenage males on Sunday.
Officers were investigating, and visited the boy's home earlier this week.
He was not believed to have been seriously hurt, but was badly shaken, and had stayed away from the centre since the assault.
Anybody with information about either assault can contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
