Both carriageways of the A56 Accrington Road have been reopened following a crash earlier this morning.
The debris and a lamp post which had become unsafe between junction eight of the M65 and the Rising Bridge Roundabout have now been cleared.
The crash happened around 3.30am and the road had to be shut to allow for recovery work to be carried out.
The northbound carriageway re-opened around 7.10am and the road was fully cleared by around 8am.
Police said a motorist had reported debris in the road around 3.30am after an orange truck collided with the lamp post, causing it to become unsafe.
Officers are now trying to trace the vehicle.
