Sex offender who went 'under the radar' found in Accrington

A SEX offender who went “under the radar” was found living in Accrington.

Blackburn magistrates heard Damian Peters had left his last known address in January and his whereabouts were no known until he was found living in Mason Street.

Peters, 21, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with requirements of the Sex Offender Register. He was jailed for 26 weeks.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Peters had been put on the register following a conviction for sexual activity with a child under the age of 16 in January 2013.

“Since then he has breached the order on five occasions,” said Miss Allan. “This will be his sixth breach in a little over 12 months.”

Miss Allan said Peters had last registered with the police when he was living in Scunthorpe.

“He then came to Accrington where the police were not aware of him,” said Miss Allan.

Colleen Dickinson-Jones, defending, said Peters lived a nomadic lifestyle.

“It is not his intention to go under the radar so he can commit further offences,” said Miss Dickinson-Jones. “He would ask you to send him to custody today so he can serve his sentence and move back to where he comes back to try and rebuild his life.”

HEADLINE - Far-right group Britain First told to 'stay out of Blackburn'

So who actually said this and who thinks they have the right to say it?
Or is it just just that - an LT made-up headline? Let's get it right.
