A MASS brawl involving 10 men in Accrington town centre is being investigated by police.

The fight broke out around 9pm on Victoria Street in Accrington on Monday.

Detectives investigating the incident are now appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward and contact them.

It is not know what the incident was about but it is thought that weapons were used, police said.

An 18-year-old man required hospital treatment for a dislocated shoulder and a cut to his ear.

DS Julie Cross from Accrington CID said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the incident to come forward and contact police.

“I am trying to build up a clear picture of what happened and would appeal for the public to come forward with information.”

Two men aged 24 and a 22-year-old man were all arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released on police bail.

Anyone with information is asked to call Accrington CID on 101.

This happened a week ago and now it is being published, why? What is the point? The cost of the police investigation will not be covered by the sentences from the court. A complete waste of time.

Why are police appeals for information always reported with this condition? Police WOULD appeal for information but do not have the resources to make use of information given, perhaps?
