Men on Darwen hotel 'knife' charge

THREE men have appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with affray after an incident in the Millstone Hotel in Darwen on Monday.

When a knife was allegedly held to the throat of a member of staff.

William Hunter, 24, of Higher Church Street, Dominic McKenna, 29, of Harwood Street, and Junaid Gul, 29, of Radford Street, all Darwen, were directed to Preston Crown Court on a joint charge of affray.

Gul is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon, a flick-knife.

All three were remanded on bail with conditions of residence, not to contact prosecution witnesses and not to go within 100 metres of the Millstone Hotel on Bridge Street.
