Blackburn Citizen: Edward Sutton has been missing from his home since Saturday Edward Sutton has been missing from his home since Saturday

POLICE are appealing for information about the whereabouts of a  53-year-old man who has gone missing from his home in Darwen.

Edward Sutton was reported missing by friends from his home on Cloister Drive having not been seen since 3.30pm on Saturday, after spending the afternoon out walking.

Police say his disappearance is "completely out of character".

DS Kate Kennedy from Blackburn Police said: “Edward has been missing for three days now and we are concerned about his welfare. I would appeal to anybody that thinks they may have seen him or anyone that has been in contact with Edward since Saturday to come forward and call police.”

Edward is white, of medium build with short grey hair, clean shaven with a pale complexion. He was last seen wearing tracksuit bottoms with trainers and was carrying a black and yellow backpack.

Police believe he may be in the Bolton area.

  • Information should call Lancashire Police on 101.
