THE Friends of Darwen Library and borough culture boss Damian Talbot have fallen out over changes to the front counter of the 107-year-old building.
A section of the historic solid wooden reception desk in the entrance hall has been removed ready for the introduction of two large self-service machines and plastic bins for books.

Friends member Jennifer Suggitt said: “We were really upset when we first heard of the proposals.”
