The project saw children from different year groups take on different jobs for the task, which raised almost £200 for the school’s ICT department.

Teacher Sue Boast said: “Our ICT project was to become fundraisers, advertisers and presenters.

“We used spreadsheets to work out what materials we needed, the incoming and outgoings, and finally the profit we would make.

“Year Five put posters or around the school and filmed an advert, just like on TV, and Year Four are made a PowerPoint presentation on the making of Barny’s Busy Hands.

“We have also made a display at school about our work.

“All the children in the school made a Christmas card, we then printed these off and sold them in packs of seven – one card from each class.

“The project was a success and raised just over £189, helped by the kind donation from Heritage Envelopes in Blackburn, who donated all the envelopes.”

“We also visited the factory and they showed us how envelopes are made on the shop floor, the offices where they took orders, incoming and outgoings, and how they used spreadsheets just like we had done.”
