THE quality of Darwen’s Christmas lights switch-on was questioned during a meeting of the town council.
Sudell councillor Roy Davies says the show was not as good this year.
He said: “I have had one complaint about the fireworks display.”

But Deputy chairman Pete Hollings said: “The lights switch-on was a great success and very well attended.”
Coun Hollings added: “It was not as appealing as last year but then we had the Darwen Light Night events organised by DACA.
“I will bring this up at the borough council.”
Coun Dave Smith added: “Three of the features on the far side of the market are not working and some of the lights are also not working.
“I have reported this to the Blackburn with Darwen Council and I know it is being looked at.”
