A BRIDE-to-be was treated to the ride of her life when she and 15 friends were driven to the Grand National in style for her surprise hen party.
Alex Bentley, from Whitehall in Darwen, said she couldn’t believe her eyes when a pink Hummer stretch limousine turned up to collect her and her friends and whisk them off to Aintree.
The 23-year-old outreach worker said her bridesmaids organised everything, leaving her completely at their mercy.
She said: “I didn’t know anything about what we would be doing. It was really exciting.
“It was like I had been banished by them all for the last week because nobody spoke to me.
“The limousine was tacky but it was completely perfect for a hen do. We all had rather a lot of prosecco.
“The atmosphere at the races was really good, and I won £30 on a horse.
“You do have to think about the horses, but I don’t think any of them were hurt this year, and we were all in the spirit of the moment. I had a fantastic weekend.
“I didn’t expect anything, I was just happy everyone was coming.”
Alex will be marrying 27-year-old Nick Kirwan in September.
