POLICE hunting for a wanted man searched businesses and homes in Darwen last night.
Witnesses described dramatic scenes as police, fire engines, ambulances, and a helicopter descended on Blackburn Road, near the Dixyland Chicken and Ribs takeaway at around 11pm last night.
A fire service spokesman said an aerial ladder platform was used to conduct a roof top search but was later stood down.
And a spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said an ambulance was sent to Lloyd Street, off Blackburn Road, at around 11.20pm.
It left at 12.55am without taking being called into action.
It was not immediately known whether anybody was arrested during the incident.
