Joe Dunne has stressed he will not make any “panic signings” for Colchester United this summer.
The U’s boss will meet chairman Robbie Cowling before the weekend, to discuss his transfer plans.
Dunne is keen to strengthen his squad in the close season, after Colchester only narrowly avoided relegation from League One.
However, with a large number of players on the lookout for new clubs over the coming weeks, he insisted he will not be rushed into anything.
Dunne said: “What I can say is that I won’t be pressing any panic button.
“There’ll be a large number of players out there and I don’t think we’ll need to do anything quickly.
“We need to keep a balanced mind and that means no panic signings."
