Villagers gathered to witness the unveiling of a plaque to mark Bovingdon Green receiving status to protect it for generations to come.
The green received the Queen Elizabeth II Field in Trust status award last year and a plaque has been mounted on a piece of Hertfordshire pudding stone which was recovered from the clay workings of Bovingdon Brickworks.
The Mayor of Dacorum, Councillor Herbert Chapman unveiled the plaque in the presence of the Mayoress, Richard Taylor from Bovingdon Parish Council chair for Outdoors, Parish Clerk Mike Kember, Dacorum Councillors Gbola Adeleke, Gill Chapman, County Councillor Richard Roberts and 60 residents.
