Drugs haul found in Darwen home after tip-off
5:00pm Wednesday 6th March 2013 in Darwen
A CANNABIS bush, amphetamine and suspected cocaine was found when police raided a pair of houses.
Darwen’s neighbourhood police stormed the properties in Holker Street, where they discovered the plant, and Dove Lane on Friday.
Two women, aged 38 and 19, were arrested for possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs after police found 12 small bags and one large bag of white powder at the house in Dove Lane. They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries. A 46-year-old man will be questioned about the find in Holker Street.
Community beat manager PC Mark Edwards said: “We were acting on information from the public and I hope this action sends out a strong message that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.
“I want to reassure people we do listen to their concerns and will act on information to make Darwen safer.”
