PEOPLE in Darwen are invited to attend a Flood Action Workshop after floods devastated the town last year.
Tomorrow’s event, from 5.30pm to 8pm, aims to inform attendees of potential flood risks in the town.
Staff from the Environment Agency, Groundwork, Blackburn with Darwen Council, emergency services and the National Flood Forum will be in attendance to raise awareness of the effects of flooding and ways to increase community resilience.
Flood Action Groups will get the chance to access funding for their action plans at an event in February.
Coun Kate Hollern, Blackburn with Darwen Council leader, said: “I would strongly urge residents of Darwen who have been affected by flooding to attend so they can put their questions to professionals who can advise them how to deal with a potential flood in the future.”
The event, hosted at New Methodist Church, Bright Street, is open to anyone concerned about flooding.
