TWO teenagers were forced to hand over their mobile phones after being robbed at knifepoint in a park.

The 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were walking through Queen's Park, Blackburn, at 2.50pm on Sunday when they were approached by a man brandishing a kitchen knife.

The pair were made to hand over their £100 blue Samsung and £80 black Sony Ericsson phones.

The robber was described as a white male, aged approximately 18.

He was of slim build and was wearing dark clothes.

DS Andy Cribben, of Blackburn CID, said: "This was a very frightening ordeal for the two teenagers involved and we are treating this incident very seriously.

"I urge anyone who was in the park at the time who saw a man acting suspiciously or wo has any information to contract us immediately."
