A MAN being held by the police under terrorism laws should be allowed to speak to his parents, according to a councillor.
On Thursday evening police arrested three Blackburn men, aged 21, 22 and 23, on suspicion of involvement in terrorism.
Two of the men were from Percival Street and the other was from Cromwell Street.
Queen’s Park councillor Salim Mulla, who said he was a good friend of the Cromwell Street resident’s parents, said: “The family is shocked, and very worried.
“They have said they will co-operate with the police 200 per cent.
“They have not spoken to their son, and I think that should be allowed. Whatever is said would be in the presence of police, and they have nothing to hide.”
Police have until Friday to question the three men.
A force spokesman yesterday said there was no update on the investigation.
