TWO teenagers were attacked and had their mobile phones stolen as they walked through a park with friends.

Robbers struck as the five youngsters were walking through Queen's Park, Blackburn, at around 6.30pm on Wednesday.

One of the victims, a Polish girl living in Blackburn, was slapped in the face by a girl who then grabbed her mobile phone, a purple LG shine worth £75.

At the same time, a youth demanded a mobile phone, a Sony Ericsson worth £100, from the second victim, a 14-year-old boy.

Both robbers ran off towards Sherwood Road.

One was white, 15 to 16, 5ft to 5ft 3ins and slim.

He had brown hair and a long face.

He was wearing a light blue hooded top and possibly tracksuit bottoms.

The girl was described as white, between 15 and 16, 5ft, and slim.

She had black hair in a bun and was wearing thick make up.

She was wearing a black bubble style jacket and blue jeans.

Det Sgt Adrian McHugh said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the two teenagers who were clearly shaken by the incident and enquiries continue to identify who was responsible.

"The two offenders set upon these two teenagers for no apparent reason other than to steal their mobile phones."
