A CHILDREN'S play area with only one set of swings is in-line for a revamp following a £75,000 cash windfall.
The National Lottery funding will help transform Griffin Park play area, Blackburn, which has stood almost empty for several years.
Last year, the local community association won funding from Awards for All which paid for a set of four swings after much of the equipment was torn down due to health and safety fears.
As part of the new project, children from two primary schools in Blackburn will be asked for their suggestions over what equipment they would like included in the new park.
Pupils from Griffin Park and St Lukes and St Philips Primary Schools, as well as younger children from Hancock Street Children's Centre, will have the opportunity to put their ideas.
