A WOMAN has vowed not to be intimidated after the initials 'NF' sprayed over a wall and windows of her home.

Carol Walsh, 27, of the Griffin area of Blackburn, believed the attack might have been related to the four Labour Party election posters displayed in her window.

The community volunteer and Griffin Park Community Association member believes the letters NF, which were also sprayed in white paint on her neighbour's car, stand for the far right group the National Front.

The mother-of-one was woken and told about the attack at 6am on Wednesday by her brother Andrew Walsh, 25, who saw the graffiti as he walked past her house to work.

Police are investigating but have said that they are not treating the incident as a racially motivated attack.

Carol said: "I went to sleep as normal and my brother knocked on the door and woke me up.

"I had a look at the front of the house and I couldn't believe it, I felt sick, it was just horrible to look at.

"I think it is because I have Labour posters in my window.

"They are just trying to intimidate me. This has never happened before.

"My nine-year-old daughter, Katy, saw it but she is too young to under-stand what it means.

"I think they sprayed my neighbour's car because it was parked outside my house and they thought it was mine.

"They shouldn't be able to intimidate me.

"If I take the posters down then I am letting them win but I have the right to put up the posters in my property."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Blackburn police on 01254 51212.

A police spokesperson said: "We are treating the incident very seriously.

"It is being treated as a criminal damage inquiry."
