A POST Office will close this month for a two-week makeover, it was revealed today.

Mill Hill Post Office, on New Chapel Street, Blackburn, will close at 5.30pm on July 13, and reopen at 1pm on July 28 – with a modern look and longer opening hours.

The branch will open from 8.30am-5-30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am-5.30pm on Saturdays, with earlier weekday opening and a Saturday afternoon service.

The service will be provided from four counters, two new-style open-plan, one modern screened position and a combi-counter, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside a till.

Residents and small business customers will then be able to access a wide range of services, including international parcels, special delivery, Local Collect and home shopping returns, make cash withdrawals from a Post Office card account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, buy holiday money, get insurance, mortgages and savings and top up mobile phones.

Julie Kemp, area manager commented on the makeover: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme.”
