A MAN was punched in the face and had his car vandalised with a scaffolding pole after telling a group of youths to keep the noise down.

The 37-year-old victim came out of his home in Bowen Street in Blackburn to ask the group of teenagers to be quiet.

One of the group is believed to have approached the man’s car which was parked outside and damaged it using a scaffolding pole.

A second member of the group then punched the victim in the face.

The victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with cuts to his face after the incident at 11.30pm on Friday, June 26.

Detectives are now appealing for information about the incident.

One offender is described as white, about 18 years old, 5ft 8-9in tall, clean shaven with mousey blonde hair that was long on top and shaved at the sides and back. He wore dark trousers, a blue zipped tracksuit top and trainers.

The other offender was white, about 18, 5ft 10in, slim, with dark brown hair that is short at the back and sides. He wore a white long sleeved top, dark jeans and carried a scaffolding pole.

DS Steve Acres of Blackburn CID said: “This was a serious attack which left the victim with nasty injuries to his face.

“An investigation to identify those responsible is already underway and I urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information to contact us as soon as possible.”
