THE second phase of building work has begun on a 30,000 sq ft business park in Blackburn.

This follows the recent construction of a service and maintenance facility for United Utilities vehicles at the park in Blakewater Road.

Two buildings will be built on the remaining land and will be occupied by Hippo Motor Group, Pro Print Solutions and eBusiness UK.

Commercial property agents Taylor Weaver will also have a space which they will make available to lease.

Barnfield Construction, the Nelson firm behind the building work, said the new £1.9 million development will be ready for November this year.

Tom Preston, managing director of the Hippo Motor Group, said: “This is the second facility Barnfield Construction have developed for us in less than two years and we’re really pleased with the impressive new show room they built for us on Trident Park in Blackburn.”

The car dealership will use its new 11,000 sq ft unit for vehicle storage, preparation and valet purposes.

Pro Print Solutions, currently based at Barnfield House in Accrington Road, will combine its offices and storage facility into a 3,000 sq ft unit at the business park.

Richard Pickup, sales director at Pro Print Solutions, said: “We are really excited to move into our new bespoke office and warehouse.

“We have vastly outgrown our existing premises, which is testament to the hard work of our staff and this move will be key to facilitating the next stage in our growth strategy.”
