POLICE are appealing for help to trace a missing sex offender who has links to both Preston and Blackburn.

25-year-old Biaron Cross is wanted for a breach of his notification requirements after failing to notify police of his current address and for breaching the terms of his electronic tag.

Cross was living at an address in Preston but has now left that address and is known to have links to the Blackburn area.

He was sentenced to 32 months in prison in 2010 after he was convicted of sexual activity with a girl under 16 and was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register.

He was arrested and charged in September for breaching his notification requirements and ordered to wear an electronic tag.

He is described as 6ft 3 tall, of a proportionate build with dark shaven hair. He is usually clean shaven and wears a stud in his left ear.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire McEnery, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Public Protection Unit, said: “We take any breach of notification requirements very seriously and I would urge anyone with information on where he might be to contact us.

“I would also urge Cross himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in to the police rather than evading the police and making the situation worse for himself.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 where details can be passed to the DASO (Dangerous and Sexual Offenders’) Unit.
