A NEW business launched by a Blackburn performer is offering a chance to budding performing arts graduates struggling to get their big break.

And through Amy Toole’s new business ‘Pop Up Princesses’, Disney characters from films ranging from Frozen to Snow White could be brought to life.

Amy, 25, of Pleasington, near Blackburn, has launched the business which provides characters for events such as children’s parties.

The professionally trained singing princesses, who will perform songs from the films including the recent smash hit Let It Go, will be on hand to provide princess etiquette lessons, princess oaths, storytelling, makeovers and games.

There will also be crown and tiara-making sessions, royal coronations and more.

Amy, a former Westholme pupil, who studied at the University of Leeds and has performed her solo cabaret routine on three cruises, launched the business in a bid to help struggling performers into work. She said: “A lot of people study performing arts and when they graduate they really struggle to get a job.

“For some, it is like they have to get to the West End and that is all there is.

“It can be really tough to break into the industry and that is partly why I wanted to launch Pop Up Princesses.”

With the business still in its infancy, only Frozen’s Princess Elsa is currently available to book.

But Amy hopes to have a wide roster of Disney princesses available once the business has time to flourish.

She said: “I have just launched but I want to expand.

“Eventually, I would really like to have all the Disney princesses and princes available.”
