TWELVE teenagers have appeared before Blackburn magistrates in connection with disorder in Blackburn on June 7 which police say is football-related although there was no match on the day.

The court heard groups of young men with links to Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End clashed after converging to watch a band called The Enemy.

The Blackburn teenagers in court were Benjamin Richard Bradbury, 19, of Liddington Close, Lewis Matthew Crabtree, 18, of Maricourt Avenue, Travis Gorzella, 18, of Whalley New Road, Leon James Mulleny, 18, of Norfolk Street, Blackburn, and Mark Riley, 18, of Edgar Close, all Blackburn, and a 16-year-old.

Also charged are Tyler Mack, 18, of Weavers Mews, Darwen, Ashley Hughes-Carr, 18, of Lockhart Road, Ellis Joseph McGovern, 18, of Navigation Way, both Preston, a 16-year-old from Grimsargh and a 17-year-old from Fulwood.

They were all sent to Preston Crown Court of a charge of violent disorder in Church Street, Blackburn. A 17-year-old from Preston pleaded guilty.
