The lobby of Blackburn Railway Station which is being renovated
THIS almost completed structure of scaffolding shows that the long-awaited upgrade of Blackburn Rail Station is running to timetable.
The £635,00 project is due for completion by Christmas.

Skilled workmen will soon start repainting and refurbishing the canopy.
The project will see a more welcoming entrance hall and a secure passage to platform level.
A Northern Rail spokesman said: “We will shortly complete installation of the scaffolding system to allow internal construction works and roof repairs to be progressed over the coming month.”
