Mavis Dagger receives her award from Lord Lingfield
THE Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen congratulated Mavis Dagger after she was presented with the League of Mercy award.
The League of Mercy Foundation was set up to reward those who give up their own free time to work with others and support our communities.
The award is given only to those shown to ‘have given marvellous voluntary service over a period of at least seven years’ and there are only 50 recipients chosen from around the UK each year.
Lord Lingfield presented Ewood resident, Mavis Dagger, with the prestigious award as recognition for her 14 years of volunteering service at the East Lancashire Hospice.
